Quick update

sunny 35 °C

Hello everyone,
This is just a quick update, tomorrow we will post each of the past few days in detail.
Today we arrived in Dakar! We made it and allready drove more than 7000km with our old VW van.
We are staying at Campement Du Lac Rose, the official resort of the Paris-Dakar teams when they finish at Lac Rose. It is a beautiful resort with beers (were not available for the last few days), a swimming pool and decent food, so tonight it is party time.
More news from Dakar tomorrow!

Day 9

sunny 32 °C

Today was a day to breathe...
There were no kilometers to drive, just hanging out at the beach in Dahkla, relaxing and repairing some stuff if broken. Fortunately we had no dramatic thing to fix, just replacing a headlightbulb, adjusting the windscreenwash jets and fit some extra lights to the bus.

Unfortunately no pictures....

Tomorrow we will drive to Nouadibou near the Mauritanian border.
We will keep you updated!

Day 8

30 °C

We made it safely to Layoune yesterday and had some dinner outside a restaurant that evening. It was some kind of public holiday as all the muslims were dressed up and in a festive mood.
Through sms we found out that the rest of the group had set up camp about 20km from town right along the beach so we went there as well.

We left this morning around 10:30 and had another 550 km to drive to Dahkla. It was kind of a boring stretch of road. The scenery became more and more sandy and we even spotted some camels!

For the first time we arrived before sunset, but we were so tired that we called it an early night.
